Welcome to the C&I Corporate Governance Committee page of the website.  These pages are intended as a resource for in-house lawyers to access and extend their awareness of corporate governance.  We hope it will be useful support for the work of an in-house lawyer.  We welcome feedback from readers and you may like to join our discussion group on our community site.

The material posted here is prepared by the C&I Corporate Governance Committee.

The committee aims to share best practice on corporate governance practices with a particular focus on managing risk.  For a general introduction on corporate governance and the role of in-house lawyers we recommend A Fine Line and Reconciling the Irreconcilable.

There are approximately 15,000 in-house lawyers in the UK and we hope the information will be of use to IHL's in every type and size of organisation.

We recently uploaded the document 'Corporate Governance Landscape' which

• explains how to put corporate governance into the context of your organisation
• suggests where you can find more information about corporate governance
